The Forest of Moonshade has been a silent shield for the country for aeons. It lies at the heart of the District of Sunnybank, governed by Lord Merry Mayweather – whose sole objective is to right the wrongs of his ancestors, and make Sunnybank prosper – but he is surrounded by neighbours who mistrust the Mayweather name.
His son Tristan has made friends with the children of his reluctant neighbours. These children that live on the borders of the forest, have grown used to a carefree independence. All this is about to change when a mysterious guardian of the forest appears with dark prophecies, and the children find themselves unwittingly drawn in to a war nearly as old as the forest itself.
They find themselves growing up under the weight of responsibility – loyalty and trust, jealousy and companionship are smashed together and result in choices that will affect each other as much as they affect the world around them.
